ALAMOSA — A group of local students is bringing “The World’s Funniest, Most Inspiring Comedian” to Richardson Hall Auditorium at Adams State University on Thursday, November 2. Tickets are on sale now through eventbrite.com.

Jeff Allen combines clean, hilarious humor with inspiration like no other comedian working today.  For three decades, Jeff Allen has been performing at churches, on television and radio, for fundraisers and at corporate functions all across the country. Jeff Allen is the best at what he does - making people laugh as hard as humanly possible. His “Happy Wife, Happy Life” message of a marriage gone wrong and redeemed has given laughter and encouragement to millions of people.  Jeff’s comedy drives home the humor in everyday family life and the joy derived from a healthy marriage.

Jeff Allen has been seen on every cable comedy show in the U.S. including Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and VH1’s Standup Spotlight. His one-hour special, Happy Wife, Happy Life aired on the Odyssey Channel and Family Net.  He’s been featured on the Grand Ole Opry, the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen and the Montreal Just for Laughs International Comedy Festival – the most prestigious comedy venues in the world. He also headlined his own national comedy tour, Jeff Allen & Friends: Funny People of Faith.

The group of students is raising money to go on educational trips to Washington D.C. and the Civil War Battle Fields in the summer of 2018 and to London, Paris, the Swiss Alps, and Germany in the summer of 2019. The trips are designed to provide students with life-changing travel opportunities that are immersive and affordable. Visits to places they have learned about in school are only one part of the adventure; they are also introduced to new cultures – surrounded by the people, the language, the food, and the way of life of those in other parts of the country and the world.

The students are doing all of the traditional types of fundraising: selling popcorn, coffee, candy, and other products, but wanted to find a way to provide something unique for their supporters.

Partnering with Sears of Alamosa and Dynamic Productions LIVE, the students are learning how to create budgets, market events, and the ins and outs of event production. The opportunity to provide the community with a night of comedy and family fun will certainly be a unique fundraiser.
