Linda Lou Lowenberg Mondragon

Linda Lou Lowenberg Mondragon passed away on Friday November 16th in La Junta Colorado.  Linda was born on February 19th, 1948 in Des Moines Iowa to Lee and Frances Lowenberg.  Linda’s father was a school administrator and her mother was an elementary teacher.  This took Linda to multiple places during her education which include Peru Nebraska, Grand Lake Colorado, Dove Creek Colorado, Center Colorado, and Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant Utah.  Linda graduated from Wasatch Academy in the spring of 1966.

Upon graduation from Wasatch Academy, Linda attended Adams State College for three years and studied English and Library Science.  Linda met her future husband, Ernie Mondragon, in Speech Production class at Adams in 1972.  She was married to Ernie Mondragon on September 7, 1973.  She was the proud mother of two sons, Clint and Edwin.  Linda chose to stay at home and be a mother and home maker as well as run the family business.

Linda was preceded in death by her brother Robert Lowenberg and her parents Lee and Frances Lowenberg.  Linda is survived by her husband Ernie of Alamosa; son Clint and daughter-in-law Kaylee and grandchildren Chandler, Garrett, Jacey, Kelby, Justin, Blaine, and Jordyn all of Monte Vista; Son Edwin and daughter-in-law Dani and grandchildren Addison, Mason, and Ryson all of Alamosa.  She is also survived by dear friends Tess Johnson of Ontario Canada, Pat Holcombe of Salt Lake City Utah, and Fred Bunch of Alamosa.

There will be a funeral service at the Living Water Bible Fellowship located at 2910 Clark Street in Alamosa at 11:00 a.m. in Alamosa on Saturday November 24th.  Interment of ashes will be at a later date.
