I urge everyone who is sincerely concerned about the welfare of families and especially children in this community to vote no on the ballot issue regarding the approval of marijuana dispensaries in the city of Alamosa. In my many years of working in the human service field, I witnessed the harmful effect and destruction of the lives of many individuals who were involved in the use and abuse of marijuana and other harmful drugs. If there is a need for medical marijuana, it should be prescribed by a physician and dispensed by a pharmacy.
