Letter to the editor: Thanks for supporting motocross event

I would just like to say thanks to the Valley Courier for always finding space and the labor it takes to publish some of the big sporting events in the valley. I know it’s a work out to publish all the names of participants whether 10K’s, scholastic, college or the out of the ordinary motorsports. I’m so proud of the people in the valley always ready to help unselfishly to make an event happen.

The Jack Rabbit MC 501 5(C) is a nonprofit to aid in the ability to get the highest quality of motocross in our backyard to allow the youth here access. This sport can have definitive change for developing youth in a positive way.

Thanks to the Alamosa Marketing Board for all of their help, event owner Sutak Raceway and all the personnel that they bring, the AMA and SRAC for the opportunities to host these events, Cooley construction, Absmeir Construction, Wilbur Ellis co, and the 3S farms for the water equipment, the numerous individuals working in the heat both days and the Gunbarrel Junction for the delightful concert. I’d also like to thank Ike Lucero for the use of the 4-wheeler to manage the race. Burger Ymas did a great job for concessions and thanks to the Alamosa County for the special use permit. I hope my sponsored rider Trey Archuleta and the three other racers with injuries heal quickly. It was a great weekend with 50 more entries over last year and we will concentrate on getting the SRAC and northern clubs 2018 combined event next year which should be approximately double this years participation.

THANKS
