Letter to the editor: Response to ‘February observances’

Concerning “Lesser known February Observances” by Kristina Crowder,  2/7/2019:   I appreciated the lore from the Celtic past that is so much a part of European heritage. However, I have a problem with your anglicized versions of the original Celtic names. Celtic dialects use phonemes (sounds) that do not occur in standard English but are not too difficult to learn. I am not too sure where the glosses you used are coming from, but they are not even close in most cases. I am afraid few of the remaining Celtic speakers would recognize your pronunciations.  Nevertheless, it was otherwise an entertaining and informative letter.  Thanks.
