Letter to the editor: Local business warms home and heart

Since there is so much negativity in the news most of the time, I would like to tell folks about a great service available to Valley residents. I needed all the windows and patio door replaced in my home so I requested quotes from businesses in and out of the Valley. The most reasonable bid was from Stan Crowder’s Hogue’s Glass, a well-known local business.

Stan made a good impression on me when he came to take measurements for the job. He was very professional, friendly, only took a few moments taking the measurements, and had his quote back to me in just a couple of days. One of the other quotes I received was almost double the cost with no increase in quality of product. Needless to say, Hogue’s got the job.

Stan is also a man of his word, he gave me a timeline on ordering the windows and estimated dates for installation which came in pretty darn close. If he told me he would arrive at a certain time, he was here at that time, or let me know of any change in a timely manner. I was worried about getting all the window coverings down & moving furniture out of the way for the installation, but Stan assured me they would handle everything. When he & his crew arrived, they worked like a well-oiled machine, Stan worked inside, his crew worked outside and methodically removed and replaced ten windows in just a few hours. The old window was out and the new window installed in a matter of minutes greatly reducing the chill factor in my home. The windows and the area around the installation, both inside & out, was spotless, there was absolutely no damage to the sills around the windows, so no paint touch up needed at all.  The window coverings were replaced and the furniture back in place with quick efficiency.

As an added plus, the window I wanted for my kitchen was not available in the size needed, so Stan made an adjustment to the frame around the window so I could have the picture window I wanted and it turned out perfectly.  I have gotten so many compliments on all the windows, but especially that one – thanks Stan! The installation of the patio door was completed after the first of the year, and went just as smoothly as the windows. Last but not least, the old windows and door were hauled away and I did not have to worry about how to dispose of them. The energy savings from these new additions will add up quickly I am sure, as the increased warmth in the home is evident. All this, and all I had to do was stay out of the way and keep my little chubby Chihuahua from biting Stan on the ankle (he was even good natured about that).

I am so impressed with the professionalism and expertise of Stan and his crew at Hogue’s Glass, I cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone needing any glass work done – they are simply amazing!

Sincerely,
Kathy Parsons
