Learn food & nutrition with Cloverbuds

MONTE VISTA – Valley youth ages 5 to 7 are invited to participate in Cloverbuds, a fun activity-focused youth development program, run by San Luis Valley 4-H. The March meeting will take place on Saturday, March 23 from 3 to 4:30 pm, at the Extension office in Monte Vista. The meeting will feature the food and nutrition project.

Participants will learn proper hand washing and general kitchen safety. They’ll then discover the components of a healthy meal using the My Plate method. Kids will practice their skills by preparing a number of different recipes to enjoy on site and at home.

Kids do not need to be 4-H members to attend this event. The cost is $10 per child, and includes snacks and materials. Youth must RSVP to the Extension office by Wednesday, March 20 if they’d like to participate, as space and materials are limited. Call 719-852-7381 or e-mail [email protected] to register. Please communicate any special dietary needs when registering your child.

The Cloverbuds group meets monthly to explore different 4-H projects with activities and adventures. If you’d like to be added to the Cloverbuds mailing list to get information about these offerings, email [email protected].
