ALAMOSA — La Puente Housing Corporation, part of La Puente Home Inc., has purchased the home and property located at 1201 State Ave. for affordable housing.

According to a public notice printed in the Valley Courier on Dec. 30, La Puente is seeking $1.2 million in Colorado Division of Housing (DOH) funding to develop three rental units at the location.

"The request of funding from DOH is to benefit persons with low and moderate incomes by increasing the availability of affordable housing in the City of Alamosa," according to the notice.

Public records from the Alamosa County Assessor show La Puente Housing bought the State Avenue property on June 29, 2022, for $220,000.

Last August, La Puente increased its southside footprint by announcing an agreement to purchase Atencio's Market, located at 802 State Ave., with plans to convert the market into a food bank. That transaction is scheduled to close in April.

The Valley Courier will have more on news of the State Avenue property in Friday’s edition.
