Karen Lee Rivera

In loving memory of Karen Lee Rivera

Karen fell asleep peacefully on Feb. 27, 2024. She was born in Pueblo, Colo., to Librita Arellano and Celedonio Rivera on Sept. 18, 1953.

Karen was raised in Chama, of the San Luis Valley, Colo., and moved to the north Denver metro area in 1971.

Karen was an avid animal lover, enjoying the company of many dogs, cats, and even an orphan squirrel or two. If her husband would have let her, she would have taken every animal she crossed home.

She loved to dance, especially to anything Conjunto Primavera sang. She was no stranger to shopping and hitting the town. She enjoyed fast cars, but not for too long, due to the string of speeding tickets that followed.

She was known for her breakfast burritos and her obsession with New York City. She was a devoted Broncos fan, and always had the game on, jersey ready, win or lose.

Karen always wanted a large family and as time passed, was able to enjoy spending time with her multitude of grandchildren and even a few great grandchildren. Karen had a big personality and an even bigger sense of humor.

Karen is survived by her loving husband Angel Zamora, and her children: Lyrra, Joshua, Adam, O’Ryan, Michael, and Kayla. Along with all those grandchildren! Not to forget, all her other extended family and friends.

A celebration of life for her will be held on March 23, at 10 a.m. at the Allie Event Center, 100 South 3rd Ave., Brighton, CO 80601.
