June Lorraine (Williams) Luster, 99

June Lorraine (Williams) Luster, 99, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2019 at the San Luis Care Center in Alamosa, Colorado.  June was born July 5, 1919 in Mitchell, Nebraska to Edwin W. Williams and Nettie L (Hoback) Williams. Edwin moved his family from Nebraska to Hooper, Colorado in March of 1929.  They then later moved to the Mesita – San Acacio area in March of 1932.  She married Albert Luster in 1937.

June was always very proud of her accomplishments in life, living on a farm as a house wife and mother, while also serving as a member of the Columbine Community Federated Club holding many positions as an active member. 

June had an extensive work history working as a postal clerk in the Mesita Post Office with Georgia Quiller as Post Master. Then at the Senior Citizens Center in La Jara as the director for many years.  She also volunteered at the La Jara Library, then later worked for the Conejos County Court House as a filing clerk where she retired at the age of 93. June was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.

June is survived by her children; Jack (Carolyn) Luster of Grand Junction, Colorado,  Alberta Rogers of Colorado Springs, Colorado,  Louie (Peggy) Luster of Alamosa, Colorado, Ivan (Jacque) Luster of Grand Junction, Colorado.  As well as sixteen grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, and numerous other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty three years, Albert c. Luster.  Her daughter, Stephanie, her great grandson, Anthony.  Her parents, stepmother, two sisters, four brothers, and one step sister.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa.  A second visitation will take place on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:45 A.M. at the La Jara 1st ward building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in the Relief Society Room.  A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 10:00 A.M. also at the church.  Burial will follow services at the Sanford Cemetery.
