LA JARA — Judith “Judy” Muniz, 78, went to her eternal rest on April 24, 2020, at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center with her loving husband by her side.  Judy was welcomed into the world on August 1, 1941, in Monte Vista, Colorado, the daughter of David Martinez and Frances Manzanares Martinez. Judy was united in marriage to Avelino Muniz on February 8, 1940, in Monte Vista, Colorado. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center and they took exceptional care of her. Judy was an exceptional and loving wife and loved going to the mountains, fishing, gardening, traveling and spending time with her husband.

She will live on through her husband Avelino Muniz of Capulin, CO. She is also survived by many cousins and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents David and Frances Martinez.
