Alamosa resident Jose Enrique “Henry” Martinez, 71, passed away on September 5, 2018 at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center with is loving family by his side. Henry was born on February 3, 1947 in Monte Vista, Colorado, the beloved son of Enrique Jose Martinez and Ramona Gutierrez Martinez.  Henry was an exceptional provider for his family, he worked many years for the Grower and Shipper company. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who was a faithful Jehovahs Witness, he loved chopping wood, eating candy and donuts with his grandchildren, he was an avid Denver Broncos fan and liked to sing and dance. He is already missed very much by his family.

Survivors include his loving wife Shirley Martinez of Alamosa, CO; daughter Abbey (George) Vigil of Monte Vista, CO; sons Moses (Tanya) Martinez, Abraham (Juanita) Martinez both of Alamosa, CO; his loving dog Taquito, 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, sisters Louise (Tomas) Cardenas, Shirley Chavira both of Wyoming, brothers Joe Martinez of Pueblo, CO; Arthur Martinez of Wyoming; brother-in-law Leopoldo Silva.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents Enrique Jose and Ramona Martinez, granddaughter Serina Martinez and two sisters Evelyn Ruiz and Emma Silva and one sister-in-law Barbra Martinez.

Cremation was chosen. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Alamosa. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
