John Hancock

John Hancock, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and jokester passed away on Jan. 29, 2023, at the age of 83. He was born on Dec. 23, 1939, in Pueblo Colorado to his parents, Elmer and Elizabeth Hancock.

John had a passion for music from a young age and played in the Pueblo Jazz and Concert bands. He entertained many a family gathering with his boogie woogie, jokes and laughter. John served in The U.S. Army from 1959 to 1963 as a dental technician. John will always be remembered for his kind heart, infectious laugh, and love for life. He had a positive impact on everyone he met and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His legacy will continue through his family and the memories he created.

John was a devoted husband to his wife Erna, of 58 years, and a loving father to his four children, J.R. (Marie), David (Dawn), Mary (Steve) and Joyce (Donald). John is survived by his brother Frank, Sister Joni (John), and Sister Judy, 13 grandkids and 13 great-grandkids

A graveside funeral for John will be held on June 9, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the Homelake State Veterans Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in John's memory.

John will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
