John Emerson Gesaman

John Emerson Gesaman was born in Orville, Ohio in 1937 to John and Elizabeth (Sharp) Gesaman.

John Emerson Gesaman went home to Our Lord on January 29 2019, joining the love of his life Lucile Emilia (Mestas) Gesaman. John and Lucy would of celebrated 63 years of marriage January 21, just eight days before his death.

John joined the Army in 1955 serving until he was honorably discharged in 1966.

The army took John to Germany in 1957 and again in 1965. Also a tour in Korea in 1962 and many army bases stateside throughout his military career.

John and Lucy have eight children and after the first Germany tour John traveled in the military while Lucy was home with their children.

As Deacon in the San Luis Valley Baptist Church he made home visits inviting folks to visit the church and get to know the Lord.

John enjoyed helping others in any way he could. Be it a ride or a place to bunk for the night and a hot meal if anyone was in need.

You could always find John in his yard tending his rose garden or looking after his lawn. He enjoyed being outdoors, accompanied by his best friends, pets Lulu and

Little Bear. John also liked traveling and a favorite pastime was fishing.

John was preceded in death by his wife Lucile Emilia Gesaman, parents John and Elizabeth Gesaman, sister Mary Gesaman, great great grandson Lil David Christopher Mark Martinez, and the little angel in heaven, Aaliyah Emerson Espinola.

John leaves eight surviving children: Allen Gesaman (Rhonda) Massillon OH, Cheryl (Joe) Gesaman Alamosa CO, Deryl Gesaman (Judy) OK, John Gesaman (Kay) Joplin MO, Jeffery Gesaman (Patty) Cortez CO, Valery Jones (Jerry) Cortez CO, Debbie Trujillo (Manual) Fountain CO, Brian Gesaman Cortez CO.

Eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, his two sisters Shirley Singer (Don) Massillon OH,

Shelby Piatt (Dave) Massillon OH, and his brother Donald Gesaman Bolivar OH.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Los Ceritos Cemetery in Manassa.
