John Edgar Andre, 84, passed away on March 10, 2019, in Alamosa, Colorado. He served in the United States Army from March 1954 until January 1956. He was a lifetime member of the B.P.O.E., Salida Elks Lodge. He served as a past Exalted Ruler as well as a past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion. John loved hunting and fishing. After moving to Homelake, he became very active in all aspects of the Homelake Community. The staff became his second family. He enjoyed helping others.

John is survived by his daughters Sue (Brad) Wood of Bonaire, Ga., Kim Murray of Plant City, FL., Karen (Brian) Weiler of Cottage Grove, OR.; Sons J.D. (Debbie) Gentile of Orangevale, CA., Gary (Mildred) Hart of Elko, NV., Charlie (Dottie) Hart of Springville, UT., Donnie Hart of Paonia, CO., Vernon Hart of Colorado Springs, CO.; as well as 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-child; sisters Bertie Lou Smith of Alamosa, CO. and  Charlene Green of Alamosa, CO.; brothers Howard Andre of Fredrick, CO and Robert (Wilma) Andre of Longmont, CO.

He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy and son Billy.

Services will be held at a later date and will be announced by the family at that time. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Homelake Residents Fund through Rogers Family Mortuary.
