Joaquin DuPont

ALAMOSA — Longtime Alamosa resident and Monte Vista native, Joaquin DuPont (Wax), passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2019. He was born on Sept. 29, 1981 to Sharon Lujan.

On Sept. 25, 2010, he married the love of his life, Lisa DuPont.

He became a loving stepfather to Janae and Antonio Rivera.

On March 15, 2013 and November 7, 2014, respectively, they welcomed their two beautiful daughters Aubrey and Ayla; on Feb. 25, 2018, their handsome son Aiden, who were the most important part of his life.

He was an accomplished electrician, loving father and husband. He valued his time with his family very much and in his free time he took the pleasure in coaching his daughters little league T-ball and basketball.

Civilians will recognize him best as a talented softball player, an avid Rockies, and Raiders fan and the life of the party.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends by hunting and hanging out at the shop after work.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa DuPont; children, Janae, Antonio, Aubrey, Ayla and Aiden; his brother, Anthony (Danelle) DuPont; and his nephew Jesus (Keisha) Garcia.

Joaquin is preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Lujan; and his sister, Josette Montoya.

Services will be held on Friday Dec. 27, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa at 10:30 a.m., with a Recitation of the Rosary Thursday, Dec. 26. The family is also holding a viewing on Thursday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa.
