Jimmy Loren Sellers

Jimmy Loren Sellers, 89,  a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024, in Denver, Colorado. Born on January 28, 1935, in Manassa, Colorado, to Don Carlos and Elsie (Sego) Sellers, Jimmy’s life was a testament to his loving, kind, and humorous spirit.

Jimmy is survived by his devoted spouse, BoJean (Bagwell) Sellers, and their children: David Sellers of South Carolina, Stacy (Steven) Filbert of Basildon, United Kingdom, and Patricia (Billy) Wise of Cheyenne, WY. He was a proud grandfather to 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren who will miss his playful nature and warm embrace. Jimmy also leaves behind his sister, Sheryl (Jerry) Anderson of Manassa, CO, and brother, Carlos (Soon) Sellers of Las Vegas, NV. He was preceded in death by his sons, Scott (Ranell) Sellers, Stephen (Linda) Sellers, grandchildren Michael and Corrie Sellers and both of his parents.

Throughout his life, Jimmy was not only known for his work as a charismatic car salesman, a career that allowed him to share his passion for automobiles but also as a Water Commissioner for The Division of Water Resources for the State of Colorado where he worked until retirement.  His love for the outdoors was evident through his enthusiasm for camping, fishing, and shooting guns. 

A devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jimmy served his community with dedication, fulfilling many callings over the years. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him in his daily actions and interactions with others.

Jimmy's legacy is one of love, laughter, and service. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him. Jimmy Loren Sellers lived a full life, and his influence will be felt for generations to come.

 

A visitation will be held Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa.  A funeral service will be held Monday, April 29, 2024 at 11 a.m.  at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in La Jara, Colorado.  Interment will follow the service at the Manassa Cemetery.
