Jerry Leonard Lopez

ALAMOSA — Alamosa resident Jerry Leonard Lopez, 67, passed away December 20, 2020, at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center with his loving wife by his side.  Jerry was born on November 18, 1953, in Santa Fe, New Mexico the son of Jose Ignacio Lopez and Sabella Romero. he was a member of the Knight of Columbus and worked for many years as a road crew supervisor for CDOT. Jerry was a loving husband, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed making breakfast after Sunday Mass at Parish Hall with the Knights of Columbus,  going fishing, hunting, camping, and was an avid Denver Broncos fan. Jerry cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Jerry will live on through his wife of 34 years Madeline Lopez of Alamosa, CO; sisters Nelda DeHerrera of Toole, UT; Pauline Lopez of Hooper, CO; Virginia Lopez of Alamosa, CO; Fritzi Lopez of Salinas, CA; Priscilla Saenz of Denver, CO; brothers Joe (Elizabeth)Lopez of Monte Vista, CO; Nick Lopez of Monte Vista, CO; Augustine (Annette) Lopez of Denver, CO; Kevin Trujillo of Portland, OR. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Sabella Lopez, brothers-in-laws Michael DeHerrera and Larry Pacheco.
