Alamosa resident Janet Marlene Malouff, 76, was called home on May 9, 2022. She passed away peacefully at her home with her loving daughter by her side. Born on November 14, 1945 in Alamosa, Colorado, she was the beloved daughter of Bill Hiatt and Mary Haynie Hiatt. Janet was an exceptional mother, role model and friend to all. She enjoyed crocheting, going for rides and sewing. She loved her special time with her children and grandchildren.

Her memory will live on through her children Shelly (Gerald) Romero of Alamosa, CO; Cory Griego of Greeley, CO; grandchildren Dimitrias (Miriam) Romero of Alamosa, CO; Fares (Chelsie) Romero, Gerald Lee Romero II both of Grand Junction, CO; Miacelina Romero of Alamosa, CO; Deja Griego, Amber Griego, Kaylee Griego, great-grandchildren Shae, Greyson, Diem, Rydan, Wesson, Luka, Tobias, Leo, sister Judith (Joseph) Morgan of Mexico, brother Hugh Hiatt of Alamosa, CO. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy Hiatt, sons Kelly Griego and David Griego.
