James John Gutierrez

COLORADO SPRINGS — Alamosa resident James John Gutierrez, 38, passed away Aug. 29, 2019 at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs.  JJ was born on Aug. 7, 1981 in Oxnard, Calif., the loving son of James Gutierrez and Daborah Rangel.

JJ was an exceptional son, father, brother who was an outgoing person and enjoyed giving tattoos, camping, baseball, watching football, as well as being an avid Cowboy fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his father James Gutierrez, Fountain; mother Daborah (Sergio) Rangel, Alamosa; daughters Rosalinda Gutierrez, Alamosa; Zaniyah Gutierrez, Antonito; Rayleigh Gutierrez, Alamosa; sons Andres Gutierrez, Colorado Springs; JayRay Gutierrez, Alamosa; James John Juaquin Gutierrez, Capulin;

Sisters Tanya Gutierrez, Chrystal Gutierrez and Otilia Rangel, all of Alamosa; brother Sergio Rangel, Jr., Boise, Idaho.

James was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Juan (Lucy Maria) Gutierrez and maternal grandfather Bernie Ford. 

A Vigil Service with recitation of the rosary will be held Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 10 a.m. also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. Interment will follow at the Alamosa Cemetery.
