Jackie Ann Chavez

ALAMOSA — Alamosa native Jackie Ann Chavez 58 passed away while in the comfort of her home the morning of Sunday, September 15, 2019. Jackie was born in Alamosa on Feb. 12, 1961 to Alex and Julia Medina.

Jackie was a very selfless person who is loved by many. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family but most importantly her children and grandchildren who she adored dearly. Jackie loved adventure, especially when it came from her in the passenger seat of the Honda Goldwing Trike that she loved.

Jackie’s passion in life was her kiddos at Polston Elementary where she was the lunch lady everyone loved until 2012 when she retired. Jackie always spent time doing things she loved which included cooking and baking for her family, traveling to Colorado Springs, crocheting, listening to music, dancing, singing, and loving on all her animals.

Jackie is survived by her husband Aron Chavez; Father Alex Medina, children; Aron (Lori) Chavez of Alamosa, Krisann (Dario) Herring of Colorado Springs, and Aron AJ (Zach) Chavez of Colorado Springs. Her grandchildren, Dianne, Julian, DeYon, Danessa, Jaxson, Fabiana, Luis, Jose (AJ), Nayeli, Candy, Armani, and Aissa. Brother Ernie (Cynthia) Medina, and sisters Peggy (Mark) Gallegos, Bella (Vulmaro) Sabala, and Yvette (Chris) Quintana. As well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jackie is proceeded in death by her beloved mother Julia Medina, and her beloved Sebie Trujillo.

A Recitation of the Rosary will be held Friday Sept. 20, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Conejos at 7 p.m., A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial Saturday Sept. 21, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Conejos. Interment will follow at the Alamosa Cemetery in Alamosa.
