VALLEY — The Division Engineer for Division 3 of the Colorado Division of Water Resources has announced that the irrigation season will begin:

• March 19 for irrigation structures within the drainage areas of La Jara Creek, and Schrader Creek

• March 22 for irrigation structures within the drainage area of the Conejos River System (District 22).

This notice only pertains to irrigation rights within these areas. This announcement is to comply with the State Engineer’s policy number 2010-1 regarding the setting of an irrigation season in Division 3. 

Future announcements will be made concerning the beginning of the irrigation season for other areas of the San Luis Valley.
