CENTER — Lifelong Center resident Inez Maria Cordova DeHerrera, 89, passed away April 6, 2021, at the River Valley Inn Nursing Home in Del Norte surrounded by her loving family. Inez made her grand entrance into the world on December 4, 1931, the beloved daughter of Pat Cordova and Lucinda Garcia Cordova. An adventurous, kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Inez enjoyed cooking, going for walks, embroidering and traveling. Her greatest joy in life came from the time she spent with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters Marie Villagran, Louise (Greg) Sisneros both of Center, Colo.; sons Steve (Judy) DeHerrera of Denver, Colo.; Michael (Cruzita) DeHerrera, Leroy DeHerrera both of Pueblo, Colo.; Arnold (Angie) DeHerrera of Yuma, Ariz.; 29 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Inez was preceded in death by her parents Pat Cordova and Lucinda Garcia, her husband Gilbert Joe DeHerrera, son Joe Gilbert DeHerrera, Anthony DeHerrera, Charles Gilbert DeHerrera, brothers Alex Cordova, Dave Cordova, sisters Frances, Sadie and Gloria Cordova.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021, from 12-4 at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021, at 7:00 PM at St. Frances Jerome Catholic Church in Center. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 10:00 AM also at St. Frances Jerome Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the San Luis Valley Cemetery.
