HRSA recognizes Valley-Wide

VALLEY — Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc. (Valley-Wide) is pleased to announce that it was awarded three awards totaling $122,252 from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in recognition of achievements in providing high-quality, comprehensive care.

Valley-Wide will use these funds to further improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the health care delivered to the communities it serves in the San Luis Valley, Lower Arkansas Valley, and Cañon City regions.  

“Today’s awards will help health centers to provide their communities with high quality, affordable primary care,” said HRSA Administrator Dr. George Sigounas. “Quality care remains a critical trait of the Health Center Program, especially because health centers are treating more patients than ever before.”

The three awards received include:
 “Achieving PCMH Recognition” $85,000 awarded to Valley-Wide for achieving Patient Centered Medical Home recognition for service delivery sites.   
“Clinical Quality Improver” $26,752 awarded to Valley-Wide for demonstrating notable improvement in one or more clinical quality measures between 2015 and 2016.   
 “Electronic Health Record (EHR)” $10,500 awarded to Valley-Wide for use of the EHR to report on all Clinical Quality Measures (CQM) for all patients.
