Help kids by eating pancakes on National Pancake Day

ALAMOSA – National Pancake Day is Tuesday, February 27th from 6 a.m. -10 p.m. The Kiwanis clubs of Alamosa, Monte Vista, Center and South Fork will help kids on IHOP’s National Pancake Day by accepting donations for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals- specifically helping the Children’s Hospital in Colorado.

Enjoy a free short stack of original buttermilk pancakes at IHOP, 2025 Main Street, Alamosa, and make a donation to help children battling critical illnesses. Every stack served helps IHOP reach its goal of raising $5 million for local children’s hospitals and health organizations. Since National Pancake Day began in 2006, IHOP has raised close to $30 million.

“Children’s hospital has been a large, very important part of our life, caring for Peyton for nearly 12 years,” said Charlie Sanchez. “Fundraisers like the IHOP National Pancake Day for the Children’s Miracle Network are so important to so many families, including us, because it infuses money into the Children’s Hospital Network to keep important feel good art therapy, books and games a reality during the daily struggle so many young patients go through. It also helps keep cutting edge research and technology attainable to help save and change lives! Peyton and our family hope our community can join Kiwanis and IHOP for some free pancakes and a small donation that truly changes lives!”

Peyton says, “Come eat pancakes and support kids just like me!”

“It’s a great way to help kids – eat some pancakes and make a donation to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals,” said Lillie Munoz, president of the Kiwanis Club of Alamosa. “Our San Luis Valley Kiwanis clubs volunteer for this project, because who doesn’t want to help kids – and get some free pancakes.”

The Kiwanis Club of Alamosa also supports other projects that help kids. For more information, or to help with a local service project or to join a meeting, please email [email protected].
