ROMEO — Gregory Andrew Martinez, 42, passed away April 25, 2020, at the Conejos County Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Greg was welcomed into the world on September 12, 1977, in Alamosa, Colorado the son of Andrew I. Martinez and Eileen Lopez Martinez. Greg was an assistant fire chief for the Romeo Fire Department, he was very selfless and loved helping anyone he could. He was united in marriage to Valerie Serrano and the two shared a loving union of 28 years. He worked as a locksmith for Valley Lock and Security for many years and was a well-known member of the community from working in it during that time. Greg was a kind and loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, cousin and friend who loved riding his Harley, going camping, helping his dad, and spending as much time as he could with his family, children and grandchildren.

He will live on through his wife Valerie Martinez of Romeo, CO; parents Andrew and Eileen Martinez of Bountiful, CO; daughter Sonya (Anthony) Flores of Romeo, CO; son Gregory Martinez of Bountiful, CO; grandchildren Chloe Martinez, Gracie Martinez, Xavier Flores and one sister Anna Rae (Steven) Gallegos of Tularosa, NM. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Greg was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Gilbert and Rosemary Lopez, paternal grandparents Joe and Ruby Martinez, mother-in-law Clorinda Serrano and maternal uncle Duane Lopez.
