Gobin's celebrates 50 years

PUEBLO — According to Bob Gobin, president of Pueblo based Gobin’s Inc., which is celebrating is 50th anniversary this year, the company’s current focus on marketing and servicing copiers, printers and fax machines is really just a continuation of its history of marketing office technology products. Gobin’s has had an office in Alamosa since 1989.

“Looking back over the past 50 years we were there for the introduction of dictation machines, electronic calculators, pocket calculators and electric typewriters followed by copiers, printers and fax machines, all of which changed how offices functioned,” Gobin said.

Founded in 1967 in Rocky Ford, the first store was operated by Edward and Sylvia Gobin, Bob Gobin’s parents. From its initial store the firm has gradually expanded to its current locations. A La Junta store was opened in 1969. The expansion continued into Lamar in 1975 and Canon City in 1980. The firm’s headquarters were moved to Pueblo in 1983. In 1989 an office was opened in Alamosa, another in Salida in 1995 and most recently a Colorado Springs office in 2008.

Gobin’s exited the office supply and furniture business in 2015 and now devotes its efforts to the sales, service and consulting support for products from Canon, Konika Minolta, Kyocera, Lexmark, HP and MBM. These include digital presses, fax machines, multi function copiers, printers, scanners and wide format printers.
