Gilbert “Hapo” D. Montoya

Gilbert “Hapo” D. Montoya, born April 5,1955 in Alamosa CO, to Eva Pacheco and Joseph Valois Montoya.

He was self-employed and owned Hapo’s Tire Shop for many years.  He enjoyed visiting with his customers and was always willing to give an extra hand.

His passions were painting, landscaping, building waterfall, concrete work, being in the outdoors and especially spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by Two Sons Joaquin Montoya of Denver CO. and Prof. Shem Montoya of Trinidad CO two grandchildren PVT 1st Class Japheth Montoya of Fort Benning GA and Jalyssa Montoya of Antonito CO. His siblings are Frank (Carmen) Montoya Antonito CO, Lorraine Padilla of Antonito CO, John (Terri) Padilla of Antonito CO, Joseph Padilla of Antonito CO, Janice Padilla of Lakewood CO, Deborah (Timothy) Rivera of  Merced CA, Gabriel Montoya of Merced CA, Christine A (Ewing) Jenks of Leaburg OR, Candelaria (Jose) Lopez of Hughson CA, Alicia(Reynaldo) Corona of Livingston CA and by my many nieces, nephews, great & (great-great) nieces & nephews.

He is proceeded in death by Mother Eva Padilla and stepfather Joe Padilla, Father Joseph Valois Montoya and stepmother Sharon Montoya, brother Gary “Andres” Padilla, Great Nephew Drae Padilla, Nephew Frankie Montoya, Nephew Lorenzo Rivera-Montoya.  Survived to my many nieces and nephews, great & (great-great) nieces & nephews.

There will be a viewing at Assembly of God Cristo El Rey Tuesday, July 13, 2021. 9-10 a.m. service to follow at 10 a.m.

Dinner to follow Guadalupe Parish Hall in Conejos.
