Monte vista resident Frank Leroy Leyba, 19, passed away October 6, 2017 at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center. Frank was born on November 29, 1997 in Alamosa, Colorado, the son of Leonard Wayne Leyba and Anita Vigil. Frank was a kind, loving and outgoing person, he was blessed with many unique talents. One that he was most known for was his talent for making music and singing. Frank was always making music videos and sharing them on youtube. He was a sports fan and avid Raiders fan. On his free time he enjoyed going fishing, skateboarding, being with his dad, family and friends. Frank's time with us was not nearly long enough, but the lasting impression he made on everyone he met will be forever cherished.

Survivors include his mother Anita (Manuel) Vigil of Monte Vista, CO; sister Shalonda Garcia of Alamosa, CO; Valarie Hernandez (James Gonzales) of Questa, NM; CO; maternal grandparents Ruth and Jerry Garcia of Alamosa, CO; parental grandmother Evangeline Leyba of Garcia, CO; nephews Ryan Medina, Damian Medina, Luciano Lobato, Antonio Lobato, James Gonzales Jr. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his father Leonard Wayne Leyba, paternal grandfather Leroy Leyba and his Nina Marry Lee Ortega.

A Rosary will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 7:00 PM at Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa.Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-5 PM also at Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa.Funeral services and inurnment will be held at a later date. The care of arrangements have been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
