Frank Gurule, 84

San Luis resident Frank Gurule, 84, passed away at the San Luis Valley Health Center in Alamosa, with his loving family by his side. Frank was welcomed into the world on July 7, 1932, in Taos, New Mexico, the beloved son of Leopoldo Gurule and Roselia DeHerrera Gurule. He was united in marriage to Maria Rosita Vigil and worked as a miner for many years. Frank was a compassionate, loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed fishing, camping, going to the mountains, picking piñon, attending church and family gatherings. 

Survivors include his daughter Geraldine (Jimmy) Vigil of San Luis, CO; son Raymond (Connie) Gurule of San Luis, CO; grandchildren Beverly (Gerald) Rodriguez of San Luis, CO, Monique (Joshua) Sanchez of Pueblo, CO; Frankie Romero (Shanice Suazo) of San Luis, CO; daughter-in-law Annette Gurule of San Luis, CO; sisters Edna (Rudy) Vigil of Denver, CO; Sarah (Frank) Martinez of Grand Junction, CO; brothers Leo (Jennie) Gurule of San Luis, CO; Joe Gurule of Pueblo, CO; Harvey Henry of San Luis, CO; Alferio Gurule, Eloy (Cleo) Gonzales both of San Luis, CO. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents Leopoldo and Roselia Gurule, wife Maria Vigil, daughter Barbara Garvin, son Steve Gurule, sisters Marinia and Lydia and one brother Ernest Gurule.

A Prayer Service will be held on Monday, May 29, 2017 at 7:00 PM at Grace Chapel in San Luis. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 10:00 AM also at Grace Chapel. Interment will follow at Grace Chapel Cemetery.
