ENGLEWOOD — Jakob Garcia has been accepted to perform as a percussionist at Carnegie Hall in New York City. 

Jakob attended Alamosa schools from K-8 (2005-2014).  Now a senior, Jakob enrolled at Englewood High School in the fall of 2014 as a freshman.  He has participated with the Englewood Pirates Marching Band (3rd place State), Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Rocky Mountain Percussion Association Winter Drum Line (4th place State) all four years of high school. 

Jakob also performed with the All-State Orchestra and All-State Concert Band in the spring of 2017.  From there, Jakob was invited to audition for the 2018 High School Honors Performance Series where he was chosen as a finalist. 

The performance will take place in February 2018.
