First annual NFP barbecue held

ALAMOSA — Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) is a nationwide, free, voluntary program for low-income, first-time mothers and falls under Valley-Wide Heath Systems’ umbrella of services in the San Luis Valley.

Nurse Home Visitors offer program services to mothers and their children throughout all six counties of the San Luis Valley and serve clients who are currently seeing any San Luis Valley medical provider. Program services begin in pregnancy and proceed until the child’s second birthday.

The First Annual NFP Celebration Barbecue was held at Zapata Park in Alamosa on August 10th.  Over 80 attendees enjoyed the celebration held in recognition of NFP families, nurses and support staff.
