FGRC wins garden grant

FT. GARLAND — The Fort Garland Revitalization Committee (FGRC) would like to extend its thanks to the Colorado Garden Foundation for receipt of a horticulture grant to help their continued beautification efforts of Fort Garland. The funds will be used this Spring to replace 17-year-old benches in front of the Post Office and seasonal Visitor Center. "There were 130 applicants throughout the state and we were one of 64 selected," stated Ayesha Williams, volunteer grant writer and recipient at this weekends Denver Garden Show. "We would also like to extend our congratulations to all Colorado winners, especially our own SLV winners, and applaud the amazing horticulture projects stepping forward this summer to benefit the health of our communities."
