Ernie Vigil, 58, of Denver passed away unexpectedly on Monday (May 21, 2018) at Lutheran Hospital. Mr. Vigil was born on March 1, 1960, in Del Norte, Co. He is the son of Nicholas T. Vigil and Lucy Vigil. Survived by a daughter Ericka Vigil and two son’s Ernie and Elijah Vigil. Along with two grandchildren Laila and Amina Vigil. He is also survived by his mother Lucy Vigil, brother Chris Vigil and four sisters Sally Trujillo, Judy Cardenas, Nickie Mestas (Robert) and Bernadette Treto. As well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Nicholas T. Vigil and brother Melvin Vigil.

Ernie was the first in his family to graduate and attend college at CU Boulder. He was a family man, his kids, grandkids and mother meant the world to him. He was known for being a tough, but loving man who worked very hard all of his life. He enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos, spending time with family and fishing. The family will miss when he greeted us with “face” although it was funny… and the whistle that only he could make. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Those we love don’t go away,

they walk beside us every day…

unseen, unheard but always near,

Still Loved, still missed and very dear.

Services will be held on Thursday May 31, 2018 at Romero Funeral Home located at 4750 Tejon St. Denver, Co. Afterwards we will be taking him home to Del Norte, Co where he will be laid to rest alongside his father and brother.
