Enrollment reported at meeting

ALAMOSA — During the Alamosa Board of Education meeting on Monday, Superintendent Rob Alejo reported that the districts’ student headcount was listed at 2,325 as of Sept. 16. Additionally, all materials and criteria for the upcoming BOE Election are now current.

There will be two contested races for Districts 1 and 2. Districts 5 and 6 are uncontested. Districts 3 and 4 are currently open with no candidates.

There will be a regional event hosted by the Colorado Association of School Boards at Adams State University on Sept. 30. All BOE candidates are welcome to attend. Assistant Superintendent Marsha Cody reported that all support systems across the district are in the process of being aligned in accordance with state statutes.

The next BOE meeting is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 7.
