MONTE VISTA — Monte Vista resident Eli Mel Salazar, 56, passed away March 21, at Penrose Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Eli came into the world on June 15, 1963, the son of Melisendro Salazar and Eva Mae Garcia.
Eli was a loving son, partner, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed going fishing and camping. He was an avid Denver sports fan and he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He will live on through his mother, Eva Garcia of Monte Vista; partner, Selena Pacheco of Monte Vista; sister, Janice Marie (Andrew) Padilla of Denver; brother, Chris Salazar of Monte Vista; Gary (Ida) Salazar of Del Norte and Mel Salazar of Albuquerque, NM.
He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Eli was preceded in death by his father Melisendro Salazar, grandparents Vera Mary and Emilio Garcia and one sister Carol Garcia.
