Eldon ‘Dewey’ Edgar Richardson

Longtime Manassa resident Eldon “Dewey” Edgar Richardson, 90, an accomplishment he was very proud of, passed away on May 13, 2023. He was born to Louis Edgar Richardson and Celesta (Nichols) Richardson in La Isla, Conejos County, Colo.

Dewey served in the Army Combat Infantry and fought on the front lines in the Korean War. He married Mary Ann Sellers and the two were sealed in the Denver Temple. Dewey made his living as a Cowboy riding the range.  

He is survived by his children Boyd (Greta) Campbell, Daniel Kory (Alania) Richardson, Kenneth (Lois) Campbell, Connie (Kevin) Edgar, Blaine (Marcie) Nite, Julie (Daniel) Tailleur. His Sister Bette (Jim) Horton and Brothers William “Pete” (Lee Anne) Richardson, Carl “Lee“ (Elaine) Richardson. He has numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his dog Lou.

Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, sister La Nella (Joseph) Goodge, and Richard (Vie) Richardson.

A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Manassa 2nd Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Manassa.  A Funeral Service will follow beginning at 10 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow services in the Manassa-Romeo Cemetery.
