A Cooley & Sons Inc. excavator demolishes a portion of the old El Charro restaurant at 421 Sixth Avenue on Tuesday. The restaurant has been in Alamosa for 81 years and moved to its current location at 1601 Main Street two years ago. “It’s sad to see it go,” said El Charro owner Ike Lucero as he watched the structure fall. The building has sat vacant since the relocation and suffered significant fire damage in May.
