Sanford/Los Sauces resident Eileen Maria Salazar, 79, was called home on September 5, 2022. She passed away peacefully in her home with her loving family by her side. Eileen was born in Conejos, Colo., on February 13, 1943. She was the daughter of Fernando Garcia and Cecelia (Lucero) Garcia. Eileen was united in marriage to the love of her life on February 15, 1958, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. They shared a happy, long and loving union. In her free time, Eileen enjoyed going fishing, camping, reading, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy!

Survivors include her loving husband Pat B. Salazar of Sanford, Colo.; sons Tobias Salazar of Alamosa, CO; Ben Salazar of Los Sauces, Colo.; Kenny Salazar of Los Sauces, CO; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sisters Patricia Ruybal, Denver, CO; Mary Ann (Remigio) Martinez of Track City, CO;  brothers Jose F. (Joan) Garcia of Manassa, CO; son-in-law Sergio Andrade of Denver, CO.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents Fernando and Cecelia Garcia, daughter Gloria Andrade, son Joe Salazar, sisters Margaret Espinoza and Irene Olivas.

Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 10 a.m. also at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Gate to Heaven Cemetery.
