Chama resident Eddie T. Sanchez, 67, passed away February 15, 2019 at his home under hospice care with his loving family by his side. Eddie was born on July 28, 1951 in San Luis, Colorado, the son of Meduardo Sanchez and Ursulita C. Atencio Sanchez. He was united in marriage to Loretta Sanchez on January 22, 1977. They shared a long and happy union until his passing. Eddie was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed going fishing, hunting, arrow head hunting, playing the guitar, telling jokes and spending as much time as he could with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Loretta Sanchez of Chama, CO; sons Fidel (Stephanie) Sanchez, Kenny Sanchez both of Chama, CO; Jesus (Beatrice) Sanchez of San Francisco, CO; 8 grandchildren, sisters June (Pete) Medina of Denver, CO; Orlinda Sanchez, Theresa (Peter) DeHerrera both of Chama, CO; Juanita (Raymond) Medina of San Luis, CO; one brother Gerald Sanchez of Chama, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Meduardo and Ursulita Sanchez and one sister Libradita Sanchez.   

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM also at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Chama. Inurnment will follow at the Chama Cemetery.
