Easter egg hunts planned in San Luis Valley

VALLEY — Several Easter egg hunts are planned in the San Luis Valley this weekend including some today, Saturday, as well as on Easter Sunday tomorrow, April 1.

Following are events that have been shared with the Courier:

Saturday, March 31

SOUTH FORK— The Annual South Fork Easter Egg Hunt will be at Rickel Park on Saturday, March 31 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for children ages 2-10 with over 1,200 hidden candy filled eggs and special prizes, refreshments, games and the Easter Bunny. Following the Easter egg hunt there will be a Kite Festival at the Community Ballpark from 1-3 p.m. Children ages 2-10 will receive a free kite. Call 719-873-5512.

LA JARA — La Jara’s Sixth Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at La Jara Town Park on Saturday, March 31, at 10 a.m.

ALAMOSA — An Easter egg hunt for children ages 1-10 and free lunch will be held this Saturday, March 31, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Living Water Bible Fellowship, 2910 Clark Street, Alamosa.

ALAMOSA — Alamosa High School Key Club will host an Easter Parade of Dogs fundraiser for The Valley Humane League at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, at Cole Park, Alamosa. Walk along the river and Cole Park with dogs, receive a T-shirt and enter a chance to win $50 for best Easter costume in the parade. Registration begins at 8:30 p.m. Enjoy door prizes, bake sale, photo booth and fun for the whole dog-lovin’ family. Entry fee is $20.

Sunday, April 1

ALAMOSA — American Legion Post 113 and Knights of Columbus #2096 will host a combined Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, at Boyd Park in Alamosa for ages up to 12. The area will be divided by ages with stuffed animals and other prizes available for the youngsters.

ALAMOSA — Angelica’s Dreamsicles Easter Egg Hunt for ages 0-13 will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, at Cole Park, First Street entrance by the Alamosa Senior Citizens Center. Bring a basket. Enjoy entertainment, food, refreshments, bouncy house, the Easter Bunny and other celebrities Shrek, Scooby-Doo, Spider Man, Bugs Bunny, Tweety Bird, Rafael TMNT and Madagascar. Bring a camera. Win prizes. The event is free.

CREEDE— Creede Baptist Church plans a huge Easter egg hunt following its Easter Sunday service at the old gymnasium on April 1, around 12:15 p.m.
