Doris Lucille Miller-Spannagel, 88

DEL NORTE — Doris Lucille Miller-Spannagel, 88, died March 30th, 2017 in Pueblo, Colo. she was born March 7th, 1929, to John and Jeanette Miller in Flager, Colo., and was united in marriage to Charles L. “Larry” Spannagel on March 20th, 1949, in Alamosa, Colo.

Surviving family members are her daughters Lyla Lyn Spannagel-Thompson and Janette Sue Spannagel; as well as 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in her death by her husband, Larry, her two sons John and Cary and her daughter-in-law Geraldine.

Doris attended Adams State College and had two M.A. degrees one in reading and one in music. She was a special education teacher for many years. She loved her career.

Doris’ greatest joy was her relationships with her children and grandchildren. She loved children. She made sure all her children knew how to play the piano and an instrument, swim and play tennis and be successful in school. She was very fun loving, and dearly loved by all her children and grandchildren. She will be missed.

A private memorial will be held in Pueblo, Colo.
