Diego Antonio Jaquez-Vargas

Infant Diego Antonio Jaquez-Vargas passed away, a stillbirth, in Lafayette, Colorado on Thursday, April 8, 2021.  He was surrounded by his mother, Alex Vargas, father, David Jaquez and maternal grandmother, Elena Rativa.  Alex posted, “Our beautiful son, Diego, was born sleeping.”  COVID restrictions limited those able to be in the hospital with him.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Charlie Jaquez and Elva Trujillo-Jaquez, Marjorie and Starless Dearing, maternal great-grandparents Fideligno Vargas, Carlos Julio Rativa and Mary Luz Alarcon, grandaunt Nancy King, and granduncle Robert Dearing.

Survivors include his parents, David Jaquez and Alejandra “Alex” Vargas of Broomfield, CO; paternal grandparents, Charlie Jaquez, Jr. and Kathleen Dearing-Jaquez of San Pablo, CO; maternal grandparents, John Vargas and Elena Rativa of Denver, CO; maternal great-grandmother Isabel Chaves of Bogota, Colombia; Uncles Carlos Jaquez of Fort Worth, TX and Juan Vargas of Denver, CO; numerous grandaunts, granduncles, and cousins in both the United States of America and Colombia, South America.

A private graveside service, officiated by Granduncle Reverend Thomas English was held on Saturday, April 24, 2021, in San Luis, Colorado.  Inurnment took place at the San Luis Cemetery in San Luis, Colorado.
