Dennis “Denny” LaVoy Cunningham

Dennis “Denny” LaVoy Cunningham was born to Leonard and Zella Cunningham on March 7th, 1940, in Denver, Colorado. Passed away May 13th, 2022, in Farmington, New Mexico. He attended and graduated from Sanford High School in 1958. He met his wife of 61 years, Leona while attending school. They married in California, later having three children, and then moved back to Farmington, New Mexico in December 1978.

Denny had an extreme love for his faith and family. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting for treasures, and even more Hot Wheels. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served many callings to include his passion of working at the Albuquerque New Mexico Temple.

Denny is survived by his wife of Leona “Honey” Cunningham. Children: Leon “Bud” (Teresa) Cunningham, Craig (Mindy Jill) Cunningham, Denice “Sis” Ferguson. Grandchildren that could do no wrong: Ashli (Rowdy) Sanchez, Lachelle (Tony) Batenburg, Taylor (Dustin) Burns, Magen (Duston) Crawford, Kevin Cunningham, and Tyler Cunningham. Great Grandchildren: Trevelyan “Tre” Persson, Delani Sanchez, Jaici Sanchez, Kameron Burns, Aspen Batenburg, Finnley Burns, Jaxson Crawford, and Oaklyn Batenburg. His sister Nancy Sebold, and numerous other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Linda Snow, and son-in-law Melvin “Ray” Ferguson.

Visitation and celebration of Denny’s life will be held Friday, May 20th, 2022, at 10:00am (11:00am) at The Church of Jesus

Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 400 W. Apache Street, Farmington, New Mexico. Interment will be Saturday, May 21st, 2022, at 2:00pm at the Sanford Cemetery, in Sanford, Colorado.
