David Ernesto Cisneros, 72

Sanford resident David Ernesto Cisneros, 72, passed away February 22, 2019 at his home with his loving family by his side. David was born on July 9, 1946 in Manassa, Colorado, the son of Gilbert Cisneros and Eufela Gallegos Cisneros. He was united in marriage to Adela Marie Lopez on September 30, 2008. David worked as a truck driver for many years where he developed his love for the open road. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed being in the mountains, camping, fishing, going to rodeos, watching Western’s, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Marie Cisneros of Sanford, CO; daughters Kathleen (Jimmy) Duran of Conejos, CO; Monica (Steve) Espinoza of La Jara, CO; Barbara (Andy) Marquez of Capulin, CO; son Augustine John Cisneros of Salt Lake City, UT; Stepchildren Victoria Sisneros of Sanford, CO; Jason (Nicole) Sisneros of Dallas, TX; Angie (Able) Chacon of Sanford, CO; grandchildren Tara Marquez, Drew Marquez, Luke Marquez, Priscilla Hernandez, Ashley Duran, Emilio Duran, Dally Cisneros, David Cisneros, Shyanna Cisneros, Amanda McGinnis, Allen Espinoza, Brandon Espinoza, Emilio Saiz, Samantha Saiz, Darin Sisneros, Daniel Sisneros, Abigail Chacon and Leon Chacon, 14 great-grandchildren, sisters Joanna Salazar of La Jara, CO; Sylvia Maestas of Denver, CO; Carol (Luther) Quintana of Capulin, CO; Bonnie Waldon of La Jara, CO; Joyce (Erold) Atencio of Alamosa, CO; Amy (Paul) Gallegos of Pueblo, CO; brothers Manuel (Emily) Cisneros of Alamosa, CO; Larry Cisneros (Olivia Vigil) of La Jara, CO; Michael Cisneros of Grand Junction, CO; Chris Cisneros of Alamosa, CO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Eufela Cisneros, first wife Priscilla Cisneros and one brother Robert Cisneros.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in La Jara. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM also at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the La Jara Cemetery.
