Dale G. Rue

MONTE VISTA — Dale G. Rue, 67, Monte Vista, Colorado, died peacefully in his home on November 29, 2020. He was born January 4, 1953 in New Rockford, North Dakota, the son of Sam and Edith (Frosaker)Rue. A few years after high school he moved to California where he met Jenny, his fiance. Together they moved to Colorado, where she died in 1981, when they both were in a car accident.

For years he installed and maintained underground sprinklers, helped install windows, and drove potato trucks in the fall. He was always offering a helping hand, no matter the task, to family, friends and strangers alike. There wasn’t much he couldn’t do.

He was a member of the Monte Vista Elks for 39 years which included some time as Exalted Ruler in 1991. His love of square dancing started when he was 20, later in life he joined the Hi Valli Swingers where he enjoyed many friendships. He was a teacher, he helped prepare music for Stampede and travelled to many events. He loved his country music and always had it playing. He had a love for the outdoors and especially loved fishing. We will never know all the lives he touched and helped. He will always be greatly admired and loved by his family and friends.

Survivors include siblings:Marvin (Betty) Rue, Roger (Pat) Rue, Larry (Sara)Rue, Arlene Hanson, Judy Rue-Kethcart all residing in Oregon; and Helen Wagner residing in North Dakota. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers; Owen, Norman, Sonny, Glenn, Leroy, Lloyd, Ronnie; and three sisters, Delaine, Beverly, and Sharon.

Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements in care of Strohmayer’s Funeral Home.
