ALAMOSA — CHSAA has released their All-State Softball teams. From Alamosa Emily Crowder has been named Second Team All State. Alamosa softball just completed its second year of varsity play. As such the team has taken its fair share of lumps going 12-25 over the last 2 years. Growing pains were always expected for a squad that will continue to find its legs and chisel out an identity.

Having quality players on a team to help nurture the culture and spur things along will always be paramount. For Alamosa, one of those players these past few years has been Emily Crowder. And she has been making progress, the Alamosa senior went from being an Honorable Mention in 2018 to Second Team All-State this season.

As a hitter, Crowder was the Mean Moose’s second-most efficient batter behind Unique Ross. However, Crowder did plenty of damage once she put the ball in play. Crowder registered the most runs on the team as well as the most runners batted in with 21. In the field, Crowder was consistent fielding 89 percent of her 57 chances. From the mound, Crowder was credited with all five of Alamosa’s wins as well as 81 strikeouts.
