COSTILLA COUNTY — The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a one-car fatal crash on Colorado 159 at milepost 2.7, approximately 2.7 miles south of Garcia resulting in a fatality to the driver of the vehicle.

At approximately 10:22 a.m., on Thursday, a white 1999 Subaru Legacy driven by Anthony Dunn Sr., 63, of Garcia, was traveling northbound on Colorado 159 at milepost 2.7.

Dunn’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway rotating counterclockwise one-half turn, before colliding with an embankment.

Following impact, the vehicle traveled further while rolling one time, ejecting the driver from the vehicle, before coming to rest on its wheels.

Dunn came to rest directly east of his vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
