The seat opened up when Coleman was elected mayor last month.

Daniel, who lost her Ward 2 bid for re-election by one vote, was one of about a dozen residents seeking the at-large vacancy. “I am so thankful to have the opportunity to serve and continue to serve in this new role,” Daniel said.
