Costilla County man charged in sex assault

COSTILLA COUNTY — Costilla County resident Jeremy Costley, 38, was arrested on Tuesday, May 2, at 10 a.m. on multiple child sexual assault charges.

According to the Costilla County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest followed a thorough investigation conducted by the Costilla County Sheriff’s Office, Costilla County Department of Social Services and the Child Advocacy Center.

Sheriff deputies arrested Costley at the Costilla County Courthouse without incident on Tuesday.

He was booked into the Costilla County Jail on charges of sexual assault on a child, sexual assault on a child (pattern of abuse), sexual assault on a child (position of trust), aggravated incest, and child abuse.

Costley is currently being held on a $250,000 bond.

The sheriff’s office thanks all agencies that assisted, along with the Conejos County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado State Patrol.
